I accepted a local boy's invitation to jump into the water from the 33 foot cliff at Rick's Cafe. I had no idea that would break my spine and sternum upon hitting the water. It doesn't look that high but don't be fooled, many innoncent tourists have suffered serious injuries jumping at Rick's Cafe.

Rick's Cafe: Me putting 1$ tip in "lifeguard's" so called tip box |
Rick's Cafe: "Lifeguard" removing me from water incorrectly. His lack of proper training could of been paralyzing for me |
Mobay Hope Medical Center: after xrays and scans I was told that I broke my 10th vertabrae and broke my sternum. The staff told me I was very lucky to not be paralyzed |
It was extremely frustrating to have to stay in this position for 4 days at the hospital |
I thought about other tourists being injured at Rick's Cafe as I watched this wall all day and it seemed like I would have to do something...anything | In the hospital, immobilized, in pain, bored |
This bodycast was beyond uncomfortable. It was like lying down on a rock. Sleeping was impossible. Thank you Rick's Cafe |
I got this bruise from jumping of the cliff at Rick's Cafe |
This bruise was huge and all my skin and vains around it was exploded |
The bruise stayed for quite a long time and was very sensitive |
Royal Decameron Hotel: Obviously I had to continue bed rest and avoid being on my feet. The Royal Decameron Hotel kicked us out after 1 day claiming they were overbooked. Guess I made the other guests uncomfortable |
At least we got one good photo. What a lovely sunset. Too bad I'm in a wheelchair |
